Runway models captured in motion

These are some photographs I had taken a while back, when I was working with the notion of the fashion industry as a subject for study in fine arts, as opposed to commercial appeal. The dramatic lighting, and the idea that these models were supposed to be advertising their apparel; was what encouraged me to have a little bit more fun with the shooting- maybe they had nice clothing, but in all honesty, I was not paying attention. I was very drawn to the theatrics, the physical gestures, and the confidence behind their sexual prowess. In the photographs I was both attempting to capture the physical gestures of their choreographed movements, as well as their powerfully proclaimed feminine stance. I experimented with the more technical elements of photography here, in order to achive a dramatic sense of motion; almost like taking 10 pictures in 1 second, but being allowed to see them all at once.
